So I got a new PC about a week ago and it seems to be working fine. I downloaded a game yesterday which seems to known for causing crashes for peoples' computers. I got the same problem and my PC just freezes and the only way I can get out of this is switching off my PC abruptly and on it again. I did this like more than 10 times(?) already due to this. Will this in anyway damage my PC?
I sort of gave up and deleted it. I then decided to play Overwatch and a similar problem to above occurred, where my PC would just freeze and show no signs of responding. Again, the only way to get out of this is to shut down my PC abruptly. I tried it again for a few times and the same problem persists . I even posted at the OW tech support forum to seek help as I thought it was something to do with the game itself.
However, I then found out that it is probably NOT caused by the game, as my PC freezes even on idle. It is about 30 minutes after turning on the PC. Again, I turned it off abruptly and and turned it on again, same thing happened. Everything just freezes/are not responding.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I have never encountered a problem like this before so I am not sure what am I suppose to do. I am also pretty new to this PC stuff, so some help is appreciated.
My PC specs(not sure if it is needed):
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1300X RAM: 8 GB GPU: GTX 1060 6 GB Storage: 2TB HDD
EDIT: I planned to do a reinstall of my OS, but I didn't really want to lose all my files and data, so I went here to download the tool to back up my files(according to a video I saw on Youtube) However, my PC keeps freezing up when the tool is downloading, so I couldn't really finish up the process. Is there any solutions for this problem? If there is not, then I might have to just clear everything(which I don't really want to)
