Old(ish) system freezes (until shut down) when encoding video, runs fine when downclocked ~200MHz.-News of the United States was founded in 1933 by David Lawrence (1888-1973), which also started the World Report in 1946. The two magazines are covering national and international news separately, but Lawrence combines them into news reports of U.S. in World and 1948 [1] and Later sold the magazine to its employees. Historically, this magazine tends to be a bit more conservative than the two main competitors, Time and Newsweek, and focus more on the story of economic, health, and education. It's also distancing news, entertainment and sports celebrities. [2] an important milestone in the history of the beginning of the magazine is including the introduction of the "Washington Whispers" column in 1934 and the column "News You Can Use" in 1952. [3] [4] in 1958, the circulation of the weekly magazine passed one million and two million in 1973. (

When I try to encode video with Handbrake or Staxrip with the CPU at the stock clock the system will freeze within minutes. My screens freeze and my blu-ray drive will spin down after the normal period of inactivity and the AIO will slow to idle. The first time this struck was about a month ago and I don't know how far into the encoding it hit (the job was running overnight.) I did a few successful encodes after that and then the second time it hit was a few days later about 40 minutes into the job. And then it began hitting every time within 10 minutes of starting. I tried it again today just to see and it locked up immediately. The CPU didn't even have a chance to heat up from its ~20C idle. The Event Viewer never mentions the lock-ups, only the 'recovered from an unexpected shutdown' message.
I clean the case and fans at least twice a month. I replaced the thermal paste (Arctic Silver). I swapped the RAM with another pair by the same manufacturer. It still crashed. Right now the CPU is at 3100MHz and it is purring along happily, encoding the same job that caused it to crash earlier at 3400MHz. I also ran Prime95 earlier for about half an hour and it was fine (that was at 3100MHz, I'll try it at 3400MHz shortly.)
[edit] I ran Prime95 at 3400MHz and she froze in less than two minutes.
There's an AIO Corsair 120mm cooling the cpu. I'm also using rainmeter with hwinfo64 to watch cpu, mobo and northbridge temps. Overheating does not appear to be the issue.
Right now I'm thinking it's PSU, mobo or CPU. I may be able to swap out the PSU tomorrow for a 650W. I'm stuck with the mobo and CPU for the foreseeable future. Any suggestions on what the cause is and how to sniff it out?
