Hello! First time poster here. To start off I have some computer knowledge not a lot but I know a decent amount of stuff.
So I've been casually ordering parts to upgrade my PC and a build a new one for probably 4 months. I finally have all the parts, and put it together, and it turns out its having some terrible issues that I dont know the root of them. I took a few parts from my last computer build and brought them with me...but I am starting to think that was a baddd ideaaa... considering my old PC had some issues of its own every once in a while, still played games, unlike my current one..but its been a very very upsetting situation.
So here is my OLD PC build and the only issues I've had with it in the past 5-6 years... I had an i7 2600k Stock - Gtx 1070 (upgraded over the years of course) - 12 gb of ddr3 or 2, I cant remember, some Gigabyte board, a Samsung SSD Evo 840 - a normal HDD, and a 850w Corsair PSU that I bought with my 1070....Running Windows 7!
So here was my ONLY issue with my old computer which I regret building my new one now.. It would randomly turn off and restart when playing certain games....Overwatch - H1Z1 King of the Kill - PUB G - Dying Light.....and it was only sometimes! Randomly unannounced...So I figured maybe it was my MOBO and maybe it was something else, but I decided that It was maybe time to build a new PC since mine was a little outdated.
New PC Mobo - ASUS Prime Z270-A Ram - Corsair Vegeance DDR4 16gb @ 3000Mhz GPU - (From Old PC) Gtx 1070 SSD - (Crucial MX300 275gb) SSD - (From Old PC) Samsung evo 840 pro 126gb CPU - i7 7700k Kabby Lake (Stock) Cooler - Corsair Hydro H100i v2 PSU (From Old PC) Corsair 850w RM850 I think not fully modular
So me and my buddy build this thing (Him being fully capable of doing all this) Me (Watching and acting like I know what I am talking about) I buy a windows 10 key, seems to being doing well....but I cant play some games, and I have been getting a flashing black screen and Twitch completely stops working if Im watching a stream, jumps up and down in quality constantly. Load PUBG bugsplats sometimes quick sometimes not...other games load and just stop working.
Take it back to my buddies house we reformat, we launch pub G seems to be working with no crashes loaded it once...I take it home...and it bug splats and seems to be screen goes black and it kind of like a flickering...and the buffering and twitch thing and youtube.. etc....... so back to square one...
What I have tried currently. Replacing the power cord using the one we used at my friends house, using it at my house.. Detaching from my surge protector and going straight to the wall with both my power cord, and my friends..... It seemed to help...at first...maybe I was just hopeful but now I am just back to square one...
Im thinking my PSU could be dying...but how could I be so sure when I could play everything perfectly fine with my old build and the random restarts didnt happen very often...?
EDIT: I do use two monitors if you think that could be an issue. One hooked up with HDMI, and another with DVI but no issues with my last PC Any ideas?
