Here's the issue: I moved to my current apartment in July and signed up for a Cox 100 Mbps plan. Basically from the beginning, my internet will go down briefly (~5-10 minutes) about 4-6 times per night. When I'm playing games with friends? Boom, disconnected from party, disconnected from game, back online in a few minutes.
I called Cox a few times to reset my modem, have them troubleshoot on their end, etc. This always solved the problem for about a day. Finally, I called and asked them to send a tech to replace the modem. Maybe that would help. It did! For a few days. Tonight, after another week of intermittent outages, I called and asked what they could do. Nothing, it turns out. They won't send a tech to inspect/test their lines on my apartment complex's property. They don't do that, apparently. They can replace the modem again, but that's clearly not the fucking issue. Essentially, I've been told that I'm screwed, and that there's nothing more they can do. Their best guess? A bandwidth issue. When I asked if it would really be a bandwidth issue at 1:00 AM in an apartment complex full of families, primarily, the customer service rep conceded that, no, that probably wasn't it.
I've emailed my sales rep to see if he can go higher up the chain with the issue and that's the best hope I have at this point. Can anyone here help me out? Does anyone know what I can do to address this, either from a technical or customer service standpoint? It's so fucking irritating to have to reset my modem every day and still have frequent, intermittent outages. And I feel like I've done everything I'm capable of at this point.
Any help would be super appreciated!
