Hey All,
So I'm essentially doing what the title says. I've downloaded the EaseUS tool and everything. I formatted the new drive, copied the partition I'm using over to it, and booted it up. Works ok.
The whole point of having this new drive is having more space, so I want to extend the partition. So My current drive is 250 GB. the OS partition is 198, the Recovery partition is a little under 1 GB, and the rest is unallocated. In the Windows Utility, this recovery partition sits between the OS partition and the unallocated space. the OS partition is unexpandable.
Using the EaseUS Partition Tool, I cloned the OS over to the new SSD, it went with the recovery partition, and I was able to move the recovery partition to the end, as well as expanding the previous partition to full size. It no longer boots. Windows can't find bootable media after the expansion.
Possible issues: 1. EaseUS did something funny while expanding, and therefore this didn't work. 2. I changed SATA Cables around, which I've heard leads to potential problems.
Notes - I've created a Windows 10 USB, and tried the system repair, as well as all the commands for Diskpart and bootrec. For Bootrec, the ScanOS gives finds the OS, but the /FixBoot and /Rebuildbcd both spit out "Element not found".
Any insights would be dope. I have no idea why extending this partition is such a nightmare.
