My friend has issues with his hp envy dv7 with dual gpu (3rd gen i7, Intel hd graphics 4000 + geforce 635m). When you turn on the laptop, everything is running smoothly, but nothing will be displayed on its monitor. Its just black, however the brightness adjustment is working. When i plugged it to external monitor, it ran perfectly fine, the thing is its display is just not displaying any image. I can not enter the bios, i only see the windows start screen on external monitor, and after that it works fine. What could be the problem? We gave it to a repair shop, they told us that the problem is in gpu (it got too hot, recently i repaired its cooler), they have to separate it form motherboard and put it back, which sounds like scam. There are a lot of scammers here so i ask help here with diagnostics. Any help would be appreciated
