I'm so done with my current audio setup. It is buggy, I've tried tons of drivers, but it goes back to being shitty everytime. Please help.

First things first: I've had this issue for a long while, and sometimes it is more frustrating then other times. But now it's really hit the peak of annoyingness. My apologies for the gigantic read, but I'll try to compress it as much as I can.

Let's get into the Hardware that I am currently using. I have some simple AudioTechnica M20x's. The headphones are great and work perfectly on my phone, no issues there. It also works on my Laptop and Monitor. The Laptop is an Dell XPS 15 9560 and the Monitor is an LG 29UB67. Both the Laptop and the Monitor have an Audio Jack. The Dell 9560 is supposed to be a Combo Jack, whilst the LG jack is just an Audio out. Fine by me.

I had hoped to use the Headphone in combination with a ModMic. It arrived, but I was dissapointed it did not work with my laptop. I first blamed it on the splitter since it had just 2 stripes, so I got a more fancy one with 3 (The third stripe is apperantly to support Mic Input) which didn't work either.

Since Dell delivers some in-house audio solution called Waves MaxxAudio, I assumed this was the culprit. Especially since it asks for a inputdevice whenever you connect something to it. The Line In, Microphone, Headset and Headphone options all didn't work. Not to mention, the driver randomly crashes and reboots. Causing annoying popping in the audio.

I installed the stock RealTek Drivers to hopefully solve this issue, which it didn't. It only made matters worse, and the Maxx Audio still pops up. I still haven't found a way to truly delete it.

Realtek also has the Driver crashing issue, but seemingly more frequent. The Microsoft stock driver raped my ears, by only being able to produce loud popping noises.

Defeated, I ditched the ModMic idea and just connected my headphones straight to the LG so I did not have to deal with any of the Dell crapware. And use my internal laptop mic for conference calls.

To my surprise, it works great!.. For 1 hour or so, or even less. I can't find the trigger for the issue, but sometimes in the middle of listening music it seemingly just.. Bugs. It makes crackling noises, there is a delay in the audio (it slows down, then it pops back to normal pace) etc. I've found no surefire way to fix this either.

Unplugging and replugging doesnt work. Rebooting still has the wierd issue. Unplugging from Monitor to Laptop and then back doesn't solve the issue. Disabling the device and then re-enabling it doesn't solve it either.

I'm.. Literally at a loss for words. I don't know what the cause is. I have tried everything in my might to pinpoint it.. Hardware is possible, but how big are the odds of both my laptop and my monitor having two manufacturing defects? Software seems likely too, but I've tried all the drivers possible for my laptop and I don't think my monitor audio is bugged because of a software problem because it works fine.. Just for a sporadic amount of time.

If anybody could help me with this, It would be very much appreciated.. If not, I'll scurry off to Dell :(
