I recently downloaded the Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 after my notification center started pestering me too do so. Since the update, I've experienced a severe drop in performance in running gaming applications. I experience what seems like a drop in frame rate, as well as a severe stuttering on screen (the image is jerky / strobe like, and sometimes appears as though there are several off center images layered on top of each other.) It also sometimes looks as though the top half of the screen is displaying a different image than the bottom half.
And I say 'seems like a drop in frame rate' because I tried to recorded some of these issues, and yet in the video, the gameplay looked completely normal and seemed to run at a smooth, stable frame rate.
I assumed this is a compatibility issue with my video drivers so i made sure they were up to date. They all are and yet the issue persists. I went into the Nvidia control panel and adjusted settings to favor performance but that did nothing as well. I've spent the past two days with Microsoft support trying to roll back the update, but every attempt ends in my computer automatically updating to the 'creators update' version anyway. I'm getting extremely frustrated and do not know what to do. Is there any way I can revert to an older version without losing my personal settings / files? Is there another option besides reverting to an older version? I create video game content for YouTube so this is a problem I need to fix.
P.S. I read that Microsoft was going to address similar issues to the ones I'm having with future updates. however, these articles were from months ago. Did they ever address these issues? Or am I stuck with this BS?
