Hey guys,
I'm not sure if this is allowed in this subreddit but I just spent an hour or so trying to fix my ASUS laptop and I DONT NEED ANY HELP- I just wanted to post this online somewhere so maybe one day it can help someone else. I have the UX303LAB laptop.
I just installed the new fall creators update and smart gesture decided not to work meaning I couldn't scroll and things were janky with the touchpad. I tried reverting back to an old windows and it still didn't work.
Repairing Smart Gesture (this can be done in control panel-> programs-> find smart gesture and right click) didn't work either as I was getting a pre_all.bat file was not found error.
To solve this, I went into my program files (my PC -> your C: drive -> Program files -> found the ASUS smart gesture) and deleted everything.I then encountered another error when trying to repair ASUS smart gesture because somehow the process was still running.
If you go into Task Manager, you'll find a process called ASUS Patch for Touch Panel. I ended that process and tried to repair ASUS smart gesture, restarted my laptop and it worked!
I didn't see this method when I was struggling to fix it so I hope this helps someone :)
