Hello Reddit community,
I have this issue, which happened only today where I am connected to the internet, but am only able to view only some pages (mainly google, search results from google, YouTube, Microsoft, and a few other sites. My desktop application are not connected either and/or stuck trying to update (application such as Discord, twitch, Battle.net, Skype) has not been able to connect. I am, however, able to log on a few steam games and connected to servers (7 days to die and don't starve together were the two I tried).
I've been trying to find a workable solutions for several hours, since the morning of today, but have had absolutely no luck. Some of the fixes that I came across, and tried are: - Rebooting modem/router - checking to see if my wireless adapters are updated; even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers - tried this command in the command prompt which is supposed to reset winsock and TCP/IP stack (netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.log -- or something like that) - tried disable eset (windows firewall has long been turned off) - uninstalled mcafee site advisor - made sure all check boxes in LAN options under "Internet Options," under the control panels are un-ticked - currently running a scan on my computer - made sure router had latest firmware
Currently clueless as that what next steps I should be considering and taking. Here is some basic pc specs: - Running windows 7 home premium - have 2 wireless adapters running (made sure one is disabled at all times), some t link USB thing, and a Realtek that's in the pcie slot - not sure what other pc specs might help
Anyways, thanks in advance for the help. I typed all this on my phone so I'm not sure if the formatting is gonna come out weird.
Edit1: I did try my laptop, which was able to browse web perfectly fine and had no issues starting up discord. I also tried another conputer that is hardwired, which didn't seem to have any problems either.
