I have an 8700k, a 1080 ti (8+6 pin, 300W), and a 1080 (8 pin, 225W). (The 1080 is for extra mining, I got it very cheap second-hand).
I got the high quality 850W seasonic ssr 850-fx for it. Unfortunately, whenever my power draw would reach 600W, the computer would shut down. On the other hand, the computer worked fine even at 600W+ with the cheap 850W thermaltake SP-850M. I monitored power draw with HWInfo to verify that my components were in fact receiving 600W+ from the sp-850m. So I figured the ssr 850-fx was defective.
Well I got a replacement ssr 850-fx and it shuts down at the same exact wattage. So I don't think either unit is defective. Any clue what's going on?
Also, the cheap 850W PSU that works fine is loud as a truck so I don't want to use it.
