A couple of weeks ago, I dropped my backpack and the screen on my dell xps 2015 shattered, breaking the glass and the lcd panel. Being a broke college student, I asked my mother for a replacement screen as a christmas present. Well, the screen (whole upper lid assembly) came in today and I attempted to replace it following this video, but as I was finishing up connecting the new display connectors my laptop randomly turned on and started beeping loudly and the light at the front of the unit began flashing. "Fuck, I didn't disconnect the battery", I thought, and now no matter what I do any attempt to power the unit on results in it beeping loudly, flashing the lights and then turning off while the dell logo is displayed on the new display. I loved this machine and now I feel terrible as I am almost sure I fried the motherboard with my stupidity. Any suggestions, or have I really done it this time fellas?
