So basically what happened is, unlike usual where I wait a week before updating windows. This time around i noticed it had downloaded and before I started working in the morning I thought to run it to get it out of the way not thinking it was brand new.
Anyway post update I logged in and it was a black screen with just my cursor so I went through all the options that google led me to, removing all external peripherals launching and launching in safe mode, however, that also logged into a black screen. I then disconnected both non-OS drives and I'm able to get into the system running only on the SSD.
I have some data that I wasn't able to back up on the 2 drives so it's imperative that I can get that back.
Realizing this was the problem I tried going back to the previous version of windows through the advanced startup menu, but this just led to it saying it cannot do so. which i presume means that windows is already corrupt.
I then spoke to Microsoft tech support, who suggested attempting an in-place installation/recovery, but due to my slow internet we disconnected when I started downloading the installation media for my usb as it was taking so long and I haven;t been able to reconnect.
I'm not sure where to go from here as I can't get into the system with the corrupt drives connected running to start the installation media, should I be running the in place installation only on the SSD and then salvage the HDD's?
If i can at least get the data of the HDD's, I don't mind doing a clean install, but i need those files.
