Hi there, I am living abroad and my internet service came with a provided router (obviously a bad one). I want to upgrade this router to a better one that I bought but it is not connecting to the internet. I don’t have a modem, there is just a wire of CAT5 network cable coming straight out of the wall into the router. No coaxial cable or anything like I’m used to. If I plug that CAT5 cable into the new router’s WAN port, the router doesn’t work. However if I use the existing router’s LAN port to the new router’s WAN port it works. What settings do I need to change in order to get the router to work without using the old one in between? Thanks
