Hey,
my moms birthday is comming up and I wanted to buy an ssd for her since the os takes forever to boot on her old hdd.
The problem is that I can't just reinstall the OS (win 7 32 bit) bc she wont appreciate it if her docs/pictures weird mom programs aren't where they used to be. So I was planning on cloning the hdd to the ssd through the treminal of some linux live distro like "dd if= hdd of=ssd".
My question is will this suffice, or do I need to tell the bootloader to use the ssd now instead? Should I increase the bytesize to speed up the process, if so what would be a good value?
And could anyone recommend a good linux live distro for that?
