Description of problem
I have a custom built media pc that I've been using for years, connected to a Pioneer HTP-072 via HDMI cable to a Radeon HD 7870. I recently moved house and noticed that when I set it all up in the new place, I was not getting any sound from the rear speakers and when playing a video file in Kodi that has certain audio codecs, the codecs (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-MA etc.) would no longer show up on the receiver's display. Checking the speaker test on the receiver itself, each speaker was producing sound, so I assumed the issue was with Windows. I posted about the issue on avsforum but nobody had a clue as to what was going on. Since I was planning to upgrade to an SSD and move from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I wasn't that bothered about it at the time.
The new SSD and case arrived yesterday and I spent all day setting it up (don't talk to me about having to convert the SSD to MBR to get it to run on that damned motherboard), and the end result was exactly the same. No sound from the rear speakers, no codecs displaying. Selecting the audio source shows only either stereo or PCM. This morning, I powered it up again to tackle the problem anew and found that the rear speakers were now working, though the receiver was still not displaying the codecs. Kodi is setup for WASAPI output with WASAPI passthrough, so all is fine on that front. I played a video with DTS-MA and noticed that some sound were missing.
Checking with Kodi, it said in the audio menu that it was outputting DTS-MA, but the receiver still only shows PCM.Checking Windows sound configuration, all speakers were working... but for the centre channel. Again, testing on the receiver confirms that sound is coming out of the centre channel. Yet in Windows, nothing. I've updated my post on avsforum, tried on the Windows 10 forum, and on AMD's own forum. Either I have no replies or I have one reply where someone hasn't a clue what's going on. It's a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro with Crimson 17.11.2. Help me Reddit, you're my only hope!

Play any video in Kodi that has a recognisable codec (Dolby, DTS, etc.)/test speakers in Windows configure sound
What I've tried so far to resolve the issue
Made sure the receiver is set to push sound through amp, made sure that all eight Encoded Formats are showing up on the Supported Formats tab of the sound configuration window, selected WASAPI sound output with WASAPI pass through on Kodi.
