My Problem: new harddrive not showing up in windows, please help
I physically installed a second hard drive to my PC. But I don`t see my new hard drive in windows explorer. So I thought I have to "install it first using disk management"
But when I navigate to Disk Management in Windows, my new Hard drive is not showing up.
I see my new hard drive in device manager listed as a disk drive. but this does not help me (I think) since I can`t format it
Here is what I have tried so far:
- unplug and replug cables and restart windwos.
- unplug cables and use different SATA-3 and power cable
- check BIOS and see if see the harddrive listed.
- update the hard drive software, it said that the latest version is installed
My system:
MSI Gaming Pro Carbon z270 Motherboard
Crucial 500 GB SSD ---- windows 10
Seagate Barracuda 4TB ST4000DM004 <-- this is the drive that does not show up
Any Ideas or Help is greatly appreciated, thanks
