The president's son sent out multiple erroneous tweets Tuesday.
CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert devoted a section of his monologue to mocking President Donald Trump's son Don Jr. for his repeated inability to properly identify voting day in his tweets.
"One person weighing in on this race is spare Trump and man who reads Maxim on his Kindle, Donald Trump Jr.," Colbert said. "[He] woke up this morning to urge people to get the vote out. But maybe he should've waited until he had his morning cup of hair gel."
Colbert explained how Trump Jr. repeated the mistake, and then "screwed it up again" when he tried to fix it. Trump Jr. misspelled "today" in the followup tweet intended to relay the correct day.
Colbert explained how the tweet should have read.
“[T]he election was today, and not tomorrow, #whoopsadaisy, #turnsoutEricisthesmartone,” he joked.
Democrat Ralph Northam won the Virginia gubernatorial race by almost 10 points.
