Si alza la tensione tra Libano e Arabia Saudita. E, dopo esser stato più volte chiamato in causa nei giorni scorsi, anche l’Iran ha preso posizione nella delicata questione: “Riad sta creando disordini in Libano”.  Proprio mentre quest’ultimo soffre di un pesante vuoto di potere dopo le dimissioni rassegnate dal primo ministro Saad Hariri, il portavoce del Ministero degli Esteri iranianoBahram Qasemi, è intervenuto nella questione. L’Iran ritiene infatti che l’Arabia Saudita stia puntando a creare caos in Libano così come ha fatto nella regione del Golfo e nello Yemen e ha definito “assurde” le accuse dei sauditi secondo i quali il missile lanciato contro Riad dallo Yemen nei giorni scorsi era iraniano. Sullo scacchiere medio orientale si delineano sempre di più i contorni del progetto saudita: coinvolgere il Libano per spingere Israele (suo storico alleato) contro Iran ed Hezbollah.

E mentre Hariri è lontano dai giochi in Arabia Saudita, è il presidente libanese Michel Aoun a dover fronteggiare la questione. In un comunicato diffuso dalla presidenza della Repubblica libanese, Aoun lamenta il fatto che “le condizioni poco chiare in cui si trova Hariri” a Riad “fanno sì che qualsiasi cosa Hariri dica o faccia non corrisponda alla verità“. E, dopo aver detto agli ambasciatori stranieri che il premier era stato “rapito”,  ha chiesto all’Arabia Saudita, “con cui il Libano condivide legami fraterni e amichevoli”, di “chiarire le ragioni per cui Hariri non può tornare in patria”. In attesa di nuovi sviluppi, Aoun sta convocando incontri di alto livello con politici libanesi e diplomatici stranieri.
