The two magazines are covering national and international news separately, but Lawrence combines them into news reports of U.S. in World and 1948 [1] and Later sold the magazine to its employees. Historically, this magazine tends to be a bit more conservative than the two main competitors, Time and Newsweek, and focus more on the story of economic, health, and education. It's also distancing news, entertainment and sports celebrities. [2] an important milestone in the history of the beginning of the magazine is including the introduction of the "Washington Whispers" column in 1934 and the column "News You Can Use" in 1952. -Overview-

I know there's a lot of typing here, but I wanted to be fully in-depth. This is killing my brain at this point so I also just needed to make a note for myself of everything done so far.

I got this laptop last summer for very cheap on Ebay and while I've done a little bit of customization (8GB RAM and an SSD) it's blown me away how great it's been. It's physically sturdy and I've never had it slow down on me or any real issues. Sometimes I have 50 tabs and 10 other windows working on something and it is just as snappy and does everything as instantly as if it had nothing open. It's been 100%.

Well... the past couple weeks I've been getting some DPC latency issues and it got to the point of driving me totally insane. I always have music playing so when there's a BZZZZRRT glitch every 1.5 seconds while audio plays it's pretty insufferable. So in the early morning of Nov 20 I started trying to figure it out. I'm not sure if any of you guys have dealt with this issue, but there seems to be no one particular answer, and often times no answer at all sans new hardware. I ran DPC Latency Checker and Latency Monitor and I definitely have a latency issue. LatMon narrowed it down to ndis.sys, it was throwing off orders of magnitudes more latency and issues than anything else, so I figured it was a network driver. Disabling my WLAN or Ethernet adapters didn't really fix much so I spent quite a while trying to narrow it down specifically. I never got that far of course, so naturally it's worse than ever now. My laptop can't even handle putting any music on right now.

This led to a ton of Googling which led to this current HUGE issue. I read a hundred different posts about this issue happening in Windows 10 with a hundred different 'solutions' and I tried them all. Nothing helped, but I eventually saw a post suggesting that Lenovo Power Manager may be the cause. So I went digging for Lenovo utilities. I had been removing things with Revo Uninstaller, so I was able to clean up leftover files and whatnot normally. But a couple Lenovo things didn't show up in Revo or anywhere else to uninstall, so I did the smartest thing in my life and just searched for files related to Lenovo utilities and deleting them. I wanted them all gone anyway, just to start 'fresh' without any bloat I may have picked up. So much for that.

Once I rebooted, my laptop was FUCKED. It boots up slow as shit, it then chills on the desktop and takes 2-3 minutes for things to 'load.' If I touch anything during this time, it'll take twice as long. Switching windows once it's loaded is a huge chore, if it even happens. I can't open more than 1 or 2 programs without huge, minutes long lag. My CPU use is through the roof no matter how little I'm doing. Glancing just now and Task Manager is using 45% and "http://ift.tt/2zj9Q6y TouchPad 64-bit Enhancements" is using 35% and everything else is bringing it up to 100%. I haven't seen it go down below 90% for any extended period, no matter how little I'm doing. This is not the normal behavior. A few times now if I've opened the wrong program at the wrong time (idk?) it just hangs until I have to reboot it. [Here is a log file of the Event Log after booting post-crash.] There is absolutely nothing in the log for ~30m prior to the crash, but these events are all from the minutes after boot if that helps.

So for several days I've been trying all I can to fix it. I had no restore points prior to this of course. I've done so much diagnostics and screwing around with everything I can to try and help, I don't know what useful logs or data there is to determine specifically what I did. I haven't had CCleaner clean my registry (sigh I know...) since before this all happened, so maybe there's something useful there? You'll see I had a pirated version of Office installed apparently, but I don't believe it's the cause of this. It sat on my hard drive for months doing nothing and I removed it a while before any of this happened. My version of Windows is genuine.

I've done so many tests and burned my eyeballs out looking at so many logs, I'm just exhausted. Every single scan or test I've done hasn't returned one notable error, whether it be official Microsoft utilities, third party scanners, or malware/virus/PuP scans. It's infuriating that my computer could be running SO terribly and beyond belief and yet every single tool looks at this and sees a computer at 100% potential.

I'm pretty certain it's a software issue due to the the timing of when it started as well as how when I boot into Safe Mode, everything runs like absolute butter. It's like night and day. I'm open to basically ANY advice here, but I'd really really rather exhaust every option before needing to reset to a clean Windows install. I just can't even think about going through and tweaking 50,000,000 settings and options on Windows and every piece of software I use, just to get things back to normal.

-Some things I've done that I can remember-

  • uninstalling and reinstalling as many drivers as I can think of - tried old and new from Lenovo's website, hardware manufacturer's website, Windows Update, Snappy Driver Installer Origin, etc
  • sfc /scannow many times
  • dism scans
  • Lenovo Diagnostics scans
  • Windows Defender scans
  • Windows Update checks
  • MalwareBytes full scan many times
  • Adwarecleaner a bunch
  • ESET cloud scan
  • Messed around with all the Windows settings. I have visual styled turned all the way down right now. I tried to disable any power saving options in Windows and my BIOS on my CPU/chipset and audio/video/network drivers when trying to fix the DPC latency.
  • Booted into Safe Mode and ran what I THOUGHT was a command for verifier.exe to check my drivers, but after I hit reboot it gave me a BSOD bootloop. This was quite annoying because this is my only PC. I had to find and boot a W8.1 disc out of storage, use the install/recovery menu to format a thumb drive as proper and bootable, then download the latest official W10_1709_English_64.iso and managed to open up the archive and move the files onto the USB disk via my Android and OTG. But I did use the disk to restore to a restore point from prior in the day. The W8.1 disc wouldn't work to access my laptop's restore points for some reason, although Microsoft says you should be able to access the Restore Point function on a W10 install with a W7/8/10 disc. But either way I do have an up to date Windows 10 install image now, if anything comes to that.

-Logs/diagnostics/info-

TL;DR:

Laptop was having terrible DPC sound latency issues but otherwise running like a charm. I removed what I thought were some non-essential 'bloat' files/drivers and now it runs like it's 25 years old, constantly freezing and crashing. I can't remember the files. I've run every trustworthy test and utlity and scan I can think of, but nothing even acknowledges a problem. Pleaes help me either, a) determine what processes I fucked up so I can fix them, or b) help me figure out what else I need to remove to get things back on track.
