ASUS X455LJ. Okay so this is what happened, I bought a new internal harddrive as i plan to replace the old one. Prior to this, everything was working perfectly (except for old internal failing harddrive thus the need for replacement). So I turned off my laptop, opened the chassis, removed the internal battery, removed the old harddrive, attached the new one, reattached the internal battery, and screwed everything back into place. At first my laptop didn't turn on/no charging light when I attached the AC. I reattached the internal battery again, input system time, and it finally boot up. With the new harddrive, I installed the latest Windows build 1709 but after it was done I noticed that WiFi isn't being detected (nothing in Device Manager) and can only get internet throught Ethernet cable. Moreover, sound card is not supported (! High Definition Audio Controller on Device Manager). I tried installing the latest drivers but it kept saying that the device is not found. Thinking that the problem was because of the new Windows build, I removed the new harddrive, reattached the old one with my previously installed Windows and still, no WiFi and no Sound detected! I can't figure out what I did wrong as I've only reattached the internal battery, harddrive, and keyboard/touchpad ribbon cable while doing the replacement, and did not mess with any internals.
I'm hoping to find a solution here before sending this to a repair shop and paying for repairs (no more warranty 😢)
