This is the third morning in a row that I have had this problem. Whenever I hover my mouse over any window, be it firefox, Skype, my documents or what not and try to scroll down, it instantly scrolls back up. This was exceptionally annoying when having to browse forums looking for an answer, but moving the mouse out of the way and using the arrow keys helped a bit. Regardless, very annoying.

At first I thought it was due to a file AVG placed in quarantine and marked as a threat. I removed that and all associated files and that seemed to fix it on the first morning, making me believe I had solved the problem. Next morning/Yesterday, it returned to my surprise. I then started to suspect it was a keyboard hardware malfunction so I deleted and reinstalled the driver. This seemed to work. Again, thinking I had fixed it, I was greatly annoyed this morning when the problem returned. This time around I went into the device manager, right-clicked the keyboard and let it update drivers yet again and then rebooted with Windows updates. The problem is now gone but I suspect it will return tomorrow morning.

A possible cause to this might be because I foolishly enough placed my graphic tablet onto my keyboard when I plugged it in a few days back and my steel case laptop and my tablet, for some reason, do not go well together. Whenever my tablet is close enough to my laptop, it malfunction entirely and the mouse sporadically races all over the screen until I move it back a bit. Does this sound plausible?

My laptop is a MSI "Dragon Gaming" one, runs on Windows 8.1 and around 3 years old. Steel case and the keyboard is by SteelSeries. Everything else, such as tablet and mouse, have already been excluded as the source of the problem. Any suggestions as to what it might be or what I could do to fix it when it undoubtedly appears again tomorrow morning would be greatly appreciated!!!
