wikipedia) Continuous rebooting unless I touch the RAM
When I do a cold (re)boot, my PC reboots after 10 seconds (and keeps doing so). The lights on the keyboard don't turn on.
If I remove or reinsert a memory module (I have two), then the PC boots up and everything works fine. I can suspend it and restart it, but if I turned it off I'll have the same booting problem.
So my cumbersome workaround is the following:
- remove one RAM module
- boot the PC (this will work)
- turn it off
- reinsert the RAM module
- boot it again
Note that if I skip 2-3., it won't work.
I think there's something wrong with the BIOS at the software level. Does the BIOS remember the last ram configuration and does something different when it detects a change?
This whole problem arose after some crashes because of a software. I solved that problem, but the boot problem persists.
I'm asking here because maybe some of you knows exactly what's wrong.
I've already tried to reset the settings. Maybe reflashing the BIOS will help.
