My small (5 users total) office uses Acrobat A LOT. Mostly for simple stuff, but the Pro version (or whatever they are calling this week) is definitely a requirement. We scan and save hundreds of documents a week, and it is fairly common to need to extract sheets from a pdf and/or create a single pdf from 100+ individual files. Occassionally we also need to mark up (bubble comments, red lines, or something like that) a pdf.
We currently have at least 3 versions of Adobe Acrobat (pro) running in our office. One older one (Acrobat X), a couple of last year's release, and one subscription service copy. We regularly experience a whole host of issues with all of them. Adobe's tech support is: difficult to access, useless when you do, and rude. I am tired of giving Adobe so much money for a product that gives us so many problems, they refuse to support most of the time, and when they do agree to try and help they know less about work arounds and fixes than I do (which is an exceedingly sad statement). To date I have reached support 6 times where they "agreed" to provide tech support, and all 6 the end result was "ya there is nothing we can do about the fact that our product is crashing." I would love to switch to another pdf editing software, but the research I've done has provided limited insight as to what can do what we need and has a good track record for reliability.
The two that seem to most closely fit are: Bluebeams Revu and PDFsam. Any recommendations would appreciated. We run WinX machines (7&10). I think the oldest is 2 years old.
