So I recently bought an SSD, a Crucial MX300 525GB drive, plugged in it never worked and was inaccessible. I RMA'ed it, received another, tested it and it did'nt work - again. RMA'ed for the third time, this time I first tested it an USB enclosure, it worked completely fine, could partition it and access the drive itself so I took it out of the enclosure and plugged it into my machine itself. Could no longer access the drive.
I went to take the SSD out again, it was boiling hot to the touch. I don't have an accurate temperature but I literally could'nt pick it up without burning myself. After giving it time to cool I put it back in the USB enclosure and I can no longer access it and get this message.
Now i'm starting to think the other drives were an issue on my end. but I have 3 more SSDs (2 Samsung 250GB and one 125GB) plugged in in the same manner and have never had an issue with any of them.
What could be causing this?
For prosperity my motherboard is a Gigabyte 797X-UD3H
