Hi, I don't know if this is the most appropriate subreddit to post this, if it isn't please tell me where it fits better. And also, I'm doing my best to write in English, not my first language. :)

In the last year I received an email from Instagram that I made an account but I didn't. It was a kid from another country with the same name as me (my account is just johndoe@gmail.com). So I looked his profile and found his sister Twitter account so I sent her a DM with steps to follow. It was just to make him to change his email account on IG. Basically I setup a johndoe1@gmail.com so he can use it as the e-mail address on IG and stop using mine. *

Months later I wanted to change my Spotify e-mail (I registered my Spotify account with an old e-mail account) to my main gmail account (johndoe@gmail.com) because I wanted to upgrade to premium. And that account was already registered on Spotify. I guess it's him again. **

And Today I received two e-mails saying that I just registered to two websites/apps, one is an app of dates I have never heard of and the other one is about cams (porn). The latter seems at least legit but the former I can't check it. ***

1) *. Did I do the right thing? Was there another option?

2) **. In this case I could just ask for the password to Spotify and take my e-mail back. It's not the best option but I'm kind of tired of this situation. What sould I do? If i contact Spotify there is a slim chance they can contact him without any information of him.

3) ***. Keeping in mind he was a kid I kind of doubt he would sign up to those sites. So I could do two things: a) Verify my account, "forget my password" and then try to delete the account. Probably this isn't a very good idea because not every website/app let you delete your account. b) Contact them. In the cam website they should delete the account as they said in their Terms of Use and in the other they should so that as well. Is there a better option? I said that at least the cams one looks legit to discard the option that someone is using my e-mail address to create account for money or whatever.

4) Is there a way to see where my gmail was used to sign up? Because not every app/website send you a verification e-mail.

5) Is there a way to stop this? Of couse he can't access to my account but he is still using my e-mail address.

I don't know if the format is clear, ask any question you have. Thanks in advance.
