I have Dell Inspiron 5558 with Intel i5 core and 8GB RAM, running Windows 8.1. I recently bought a WD My Passport, 2TB HDD.
I have been facing slow transfer speeds when i try to transfer folders containing images and documents(ebooks). The transfer starts off at around 60 MB/s but it drops down to around 10 MB/s in a second or two and stays that way. But the speeds hold at around 100 MB/s when i transfer folders containing media files.
Also the folders with images and documents have a lot of subfolders, if that's significant in any way.
I've tried googling the issue but everyone's problems seem to be the other way around. They get slower speeds with media files, and having more subfolders usually is the solution to slow speeds.
Any thoughts ?
