So glad this exists.
I signed up for verizon DSL internet, which required me to also purchase a home phone line. I did, $40/month, great.
Then they tell me I need a phone jack in order to use this internet. I live in a very old building in downtown Boston, and I looked EVERYWHERE and could not find a phone jack.
I contacted them today and they say they do not offer other internet options in my area. I am not sure what to do - are they just saying I need a phone jack for the phone? Because I won't be using it. Is there a way to get internet without a phone jack? I truly do not understand how it's possible that I won't be able to have internet. Everyone else in my building has it!
So couple questions: 1) any thoughts on old buildings and where they might have hidden a phone jack? 2) what kind of internet should I be looking at? 3) are they wrong?
I know I sound so dumb but I just have no idea what next steps to take. Thank you for any help and advice!
