My dad accidentally installed a couple of Trojans on my computer by downloading a questionable file. I was doing a back up of my files and left my PC unattended while I helped my mom. I left my PC on my Bed and my dad thinks my PC will explode if I do that. It doesn't get hot and I always have an extra fan or cooling pad running. so he moved it and I don't know if he tried to look something up or if he thought he was helping by clicking something, I don't know. I came back to the pop ups running amok and tried running avg but it needed to update. It went to 97% and my PC crashed. It restarted, updated windows and I tried again but it crashed again. It continued this loop, crashing just before the log in\welcome screen and restarting. It looped about 2-3 times before I shut it down and raced to the nearest PC repair shop. The shop was closed so I can get it fixed yet. I asked a geek squad employee what my options are but my local shop doesn't do repairs without a plan. My laptop is 4 years old and this is the first ever problem I had with it. I'm looking into fixing it myself but I'm not that tech savvy at all. I know the bare basics and that's about it. My second issue is that I have extremely important data on my PC that I don't want to loose; photos videos and documents. I'm not against bringing it to a professional but what is a reasonable price for data recovery\backup and virus removal? $100? If I did it myself, I read about something called the fix me stick. Is this a viable option for a case like mine? I also read up on booting my PC in safe mode to back up my files but again not sure if it would work for me. I haven't touched or done anything with my PC since I turned it off and brought it o Best buy. Has not been turned on since

I don't know all of the specs of my PC but this is what I do know: HP pavilion notebook--model number is worn off and I'm not sure where the paperwork is I have a picture of it on my the PC. Windows 7--- i think? Could be 8. It has the tile screen. I know it's not helpful info but if you need more info, ask and I'll try to answer.
