On the off chance anyone here can help me:
I was editing a project and was trying to line up two files. So to make it easier I looped the playback on the region I was editing. While the looped region was playing, I saved the file. I have a habit of saving after and during nearly every edit so I don't lose any progress. Worked out well for me, as you'll see. I don't know if clicking save during the playback is what did it, but the section wouldn't actually loop. It just stopped where it was at. Than Vegas just ignored any regions or sections I made (I don't know what it's actually called. When you click and drag above the tracks and and make like a highlighted region or something) and the loop feature wasn't working at all. I saved again before exiting the program to see if it would help. When I went to open up the program, it was blank. No project was loaded in. Usually it automatically loads up my previous project or asks me if I want to open up a restored file. But this was just blank. So I opened up my file, and it wasn't saved. Not only was it not saved from the last time I was editing, but it wasn't saved from nearly a couple days ago. I had almost everything near finished, and now for a good portion of the video I'm back at square one. There's no backup files for it, my video file wasn't saved, and my backup save (I make backups every once in a while) wasn't very caught up, as I made a bunch of changes and didn't even think to update my backup file yet at that point. So if anyone knows anything about Sony Vegas, do you know what happened here? I'm fully accepting the fact that I can't get the editing I did these last couple days back, but I just want to be able to avoid this for the future. So anyone that can help, thanks.
