I moved into a house about 4 months ago. Anytime I'm gaming or playing poker, anything online, my net will, with no warning, no lag spikes, just shut off. It always reconnects within a few minutes. It's like the modem just hard resets my connection 10+ times a day. The internet performs great when it's working. Great speed, all numbers look great. I plug straight in to the modem via ethernet cable. It's not a computer, or router issue. The "online" light on the modem is just shutting off randomly.
They finally sent out their "#1 tech" last time and he said I had voltage hitting my modem which was causing it to drop and re-connect. He hooked up some voltage tester and said if this number is over 15, you're going to have issues. It was 29. So I thought wow finally, we found the problem.
The culprit was one of the outlets in the basement, so I turned off that outlet on the breaker, and when he tested the voltage again, it was 0. So he left and said everything will be fine now.
But now, 3 days later, it's happening again. I don't know what else to try. I've done all the research I can via online, youtube, reddit, etc. The techs are going to quit coming to my house because they don't know what else to do. Everything has been replaced, everything is brand new, and from their end they say my connection is good. All my numbers are good like decibel to noise ratio etc.
If anyone has any ideas of what I can try I would really appreciate it cuz I'm out of options. Thanks.
