I've had nothing but issues with my new motherboard, the ASUS Prime x399-A. I could use any help I can get.

My computer specs:

Threadripper 1920x

ASUS 1070 GPU

32gb of Corsair Vengence LPX 3200mhz DDR4

ASUS Prime x399-a motherboard

250gb NVME Samsung drive

Coolermaster 850watt powersupply.

Kraken x62 CPU cooler.

So I'll just get to the problem. For one, the few times I can actually boot to BIOS, I can't clock my ram above 2100mhz without it crashing right away. When it does crash, it's always the D0 error code, which is CPU initialization failure. From my past knowledge, I'm pretty sure that just means the CPU isn't getting enough power to start all the way.

I'll list all the things I've tried at the end of the post, just so we can get things out of the way. But I do know for a fact that it isn't my CPU or GPU that are the issue. I actually got it as far into the boot process to run windows last night, and everything looked like it was working. I also tested the cpu in my old board.

This is actually my 2nd motherboard of this model, my last one was RMA'd because of the same issue. I just assumed a pin was bent or something went wrong in shipping, because that happens sometimes. But now I know that isn't the case, and it's either the motherboard not working with one of my other parts, or just something wrong with my hardware in general. Also forgot to mentention that if I try to run my ram like the motherboard says to (one of each stick in the grey slots, 4 sticks), I can't even get to the BIOS with out it being stuck in a boot loop nightmare.

Lastly, I'll just list the things i've tried, so I don't have to waste anyone's time with trying things twice. Hopefully we can fix this, because I don't think I can RMA a replacement of a prior RMA'd item...

I've tried:

Removing all but one stick of ram, then adding one after each successful boot. It worked, but not for long. It crashes after I add the 4th stick.

I tried to put all 4 sticks into the 4 slots on one side of the motherboard only. It worked somehow, but was 50/50 if it's actually boot past bios. Weirdly enough, this only worked on the right side of the motherboard. On DIMMs C and D.

I tried to update BIOS to the most recent version. This changed nothing at all. Thanks ASUS

I tried to call ASUS support. They hung up on me after the 4 things they told me to try didn't work. :)

I tried reinstalling EVERYTHING on the board, just to make sure I had everything correct. Didn't change anything.

I reset CMOS, multiple times. It got past boot, but not past BIOS.

Tried using each stick of ram, one at a time. It didn't make any difference, so all 4 sticks work (or don't work?)

I was so desperate I even tried to add a little more thermal paste to the cpu in case it didn't have enough. Which doesn't sound like itd help, but as I said, i was desperate.

I've probably tried more things that I just can't even think of right now, but any help would be amazing, thank you for reading my wall of text.
