So yeah. I researched where the paths to 2010 lie on my machine. They are in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 excel.exe (64 bit 2010...pretty rare apparently.)
When I double click that excel.exe, it correctly opens up excel 2010...so I know that is the right excel.exe for 2010.
Now, when I double click on an excel document file, it tries to open 2016 (which I do not have and don't want to pay for). When I right click the document file and say "open with" and chose another app on the computer, so as to reassociate .xlx files with 2010, even after directly pointing to the excel.exe for 2010, it still tries to open up 2016 when I double click on a file.
WHAT THE HELL?! :(
I don't' want have to manually open up 2010 and hunt for a file every time I want to open it. I want to be able to double click the file and have it open like it always did...I am not sure what changed other than maybe a windows update is trying to force something? Should I try and uninstall 2016? (I never installed it in the first place...it is just there. I think it always has been there. They try and force you into it it seems.)
