I have recently begun to play Destiny 2 on my laptop. I know it is not the best idea, but I have the requirements for the game, and it runs fine most of the time at 60 fps. The laptop gets very hot, as one would expect, and that is fine. However, I use a USB-C port for my Ethernet chord and mechanical keyboard. I believe when the laptop gets to a certain temp, it slows everything down on a graphical level (audio usually seems to keep up to pace). This is something I would like to fix but its not on my mind to do for now. The problem is, the computer will also disconnect my USB-C (only this port, other USBs stay connected) for a few seconds, and then reconnect it. This is a problem, as I lose my internet connection and connection to my keyboard.
I posted this here instead of a gaming subreddit because I suspect its more of a hardware/general problem than one with just destiny 2 specifically. Sorry if I posted in the wrong place, however. Thanks for answers in advance.
