Few days ago I brought LG 24MP59G-P monitor, I tried connecting HDMI on my old graphic card but there was no video output. At the moment its connected to VGA and that works, but that doesn't allow monitors true potentials and option it has. I also brought DP to DVI cable to connect to it, but same as with HDMI no video output at all. I have latest drivers installed for my bit older graphic card, GTX 460 and installed current BIOS version to my motherboard, still nothing. It just shows that its going to sleep mode, even in BIOS, so its not a Windows driver thing. The only thing I did not update was BIOS for graphic card, Im afraid to break it.
Tests: I have tested HDMI cable on laptop, it works, on my PC not. I have tested my old monitor, that has DVI to DVI cable. But new cable I got DP to DVI doesn't work. It says its not detectable. When I try to update drivers in device manager, it only loads up analog one, digital cable is not detectable at all. When I try to switch line ins in options on monitor, if its another cable it just shuts down showing no output detected and that its entering sleep mode.
Did anyone have similar issues or has solutions?
Monitor doesn't seem to be defective... Im only thinking graphic card is too old for it maybe.
