Several days ago our earthlink internet just stopped working entirely. The lines are from at&t. On the modem, the adsl light is lit, but not the internet light. Which if I just plug it in tends to just not light up entirely, but later is likely to turn red and stay that way. I tested it with a spare modem to make sure it wasn't the modem, and the spare one acted the same. I even used a spare cord, and tried different phone jacks or unplugging the phone. I made sure the phone that I know of has a filter. I went through the options with them to make sure it has the correct information in the modem. The phone still works fine.
The problem is, I called both at&t and earthlink multiple times, and both claim that their tests show no issue on their end. I have no clue what to do, because I don't even know whether the issue is on my end or their end. Nothing looks wrong on our end. And nothing was changed from it was from the day earlier when it was working fine.
An at&t truck did come to our block today, but it wasn't fixed when they left. I don't know if someone else on our block called them and its a block wide issue, or what. Unless they realized there really was an issue, and it being fixed doesn't happen until later, I'm not sure what else to try.
I'm southside chicago if that matters.
