According to this article if you run a trace route and you get multiple local addresses you are going to have double NAT issues. This makes sense for me because I am having connection issues with a particular application. I ran the tracert and first it goes to 192.168.1.1 (my netgear nighthawk that handles DCHP) and then it goes to 10.0.0.1 (the xfinity gateway). The problem is, the gateway IS in bridge mode. I have switched it back and forth just to be sure. I also disabled the firewall on the gateway because I thought it might retain some of the routing in order to enforce firewall rules. That didn't make a difference either. So, what am I missing?
