Recently (last 2 weeks), I've had this issue where my display driver stops responding. Often, my 2 monitors will go black. From there, about half the time, my screens will turn back on and I'll receive the "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" notification. The other half of the time, my screens will stay black and won't come back on until I restart my PC. This happens whether I'm doing something GPU-intensive (i.e, games) or when I'm just on my desktop doing nothing.
My build is ~2 years old, and I'm using a ZOTAC GTX 970 (not overclocked). Other specs are: i7-4790, 8 GB Ram, running Windows 8.1
What I have tried:
-Updating drivers
-Reseating the GPU
-Clearing out dust from computer
-Verifying it is not an overheating issue
Does anyone know what the issue could possibly be?
