Kizhi Churches built on an Island in Northern Russia
Protected heritage under UNESCO

Today, the United States and Israel...who I have merged under the name USrael...displayed to the world their savage, brutish outlook on human civilization on this planet.  They have both dropped out of the UN body that preserves indigenous culture in today's "throwaway" world, UNESCO.  Here is the report from the BBC in its entirety and I will have more thoughts in comments to follow:

"Israel has said it will join the US in pulling out of the UN's cultural organisation Unesco, after US officials cited "anti-Israel bias". Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the US decision as "brave and moral", a statement said.

The agency is known for designating world heritage sites such as Syria's Palmyra and the US Grand Canyon. Unesco head Irina Bokova earlier called the US withdrawal a matter of "profound regret".
She admitted, however, that "politicisation" had "taken its toll" on the organisation in recent years.
The withdrawal represented a loss to the "UN family" and to multilateralism, Ms Bokova added.
The US withdrawal will become effective at the end of December 2018 - until then, the US will remain a full member. The US will establish an observer mission at the Paris-based organisation to replace its representation, the state department said.

'An easy target'

By Jonathan Marcus, BBC diplomatic correspondent
Unesco is an easy target for US President Donald Trump - it is a multilateral body with educational and developmental goals like promoting sex education, literacy and equality for women.
The US withdrawal will be seen by many as a manifestation of Mr Trump's "America First" approach and his across-the-board hostility to multilateral organisations; the irony being that Unesco is part of the international architecture that the US helped to establish in the wake of World War Two.
But it is the organisation's perceived anti-Israel bias that is the fundamental issue here. It has condemned Israel in the past for its activities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and earlier this year it designated the old city of Hebron a Palestinian World Heritage Site - a step Israel insisted denied centuries of Jewish history there, not least the Tomb of the Patriarchs that dates back to biblical times.

Hours after the US announced its withdrawal, the Israelis joined in, with Prime Minister Netanyahu saying he had instructed his foreign ministry to begin preparations to leave. As well as accusing Unesco of bias, the US state department said it was also concerned about mounting financial arrears at the agency and said it should be reformed. The decision follows a string of Unesco decisions that have drawn criticism from the US and Israel.

In 2011 the US cut its funding to the agency - slashing its budget by 22% - in protest at its decision to grant full membership to the Palestinians. And last year, Israel suspended co-operation with Unesco after the agency adopted a controversial resolution which made no reference to Jewish ties to a key holy site in Jerusalem. The resolution also criticised Israel's activities at holy places in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank. Then earlier this year, Mr. Netanyahu condemned Unesco for declaring the Old City of Hebron in the West Bank a Palestinian World Heritage site.
He accused Unesco of ignoring Judaism's ancient connection to the city, which includes the crypt where its matriarchs and patriarchs are buried."

In 2014 I travelled to Russia and visited the ancient churches known as Kizhi that were built entirely of wood (even the nails!) on Kizhi island. The island is located on Lake Onega in the Republic of Karelia (Medvezhyegorsky District), Russia.  I marveled at the stunning beauty of the old wood facades which change with the sun's reflected light from dark grey to gold, to iridescent pink.   I did not go inside the biggest church because it was under restoration...which it always is...the old wood needing constant repair and protection from the elements.  I did  go into the smaller chapel and the ancient  homestead.  Entering both these buildings was like being transported back in time.  Better than any "virtual" Hollywood movie rendition of another era.  I stood in the living room of the homestead and saw the huge white plaster stove in the center...which had a flat space on the top for the family to lie on the heated surface at night during the bitter winters.

Maintaining and presenting to the public all this history, I was repeatedly told by our guides, was possible due to the designation of the site as a UNESCO heritage site.  All over the world there are sites like this, which preserve the precious human history for generations to come.  What could be more precious to us as a species than to know where we came from and, thus who we are?

Of course it is expensive to maintain...just like having the most powerful military force the world has ever seen is expensive to maintain...although the entire UNESCO budget is but a fraction of what the US military budget is.

The United States' tail and it's controlling dog, Israel, have brushed away this United Nations Agency as if it were a flea on their back.  UNESCO's an irritant to them...because then they have to respect human history that can be inconvenient, such as Palmyra, the ancient ruin that was standing in their way on their journey to destroy Syria.  The ancient buildings in Palestine are also in their way...of erasing the indigenous Semites (Palestinians) who lived and are still living in Palestine...to be replaced by the foreign non-semites...the Eurasian Khazars.

Even in WWII....both sides of the conflict respected heritage sites such as Mont Saint Michel in France.  I was watching a TV documentary about the history of that UNESCO protected site the other evening and was amazed that such an enormous, complex and beautiful edifice could exist for centuries perched precariously on the top of a wind-swept hill in an estuary.  The west could have bombed it, the Nazis could have bombed it...but they still had a semblance of humanity back then.

Now USrael has degenerated to the point where people are starting to question and/or doubt whether it is even human anymore.  Perhaps David Icke is right...these entities are NOT human, they are reptilian or whatever...they certainly do not contain some of the essential elements of humanity...such as empathy and memory.

The big question now for me as a Canadian is whether le Dauphin, will follow along like a meek puppy.  We know that Canada, like Palau and other tiny specks in the ocean, suicidally and  consistently vote along with USrael at the UN.  We know that Canada refused to condemn Nazism at the UN last year...voting along with USrael.  Will Canada spit on the heritage of the world too?  Stay tuned.
