Hey everyone!
I’ve been looking here but having trouble finding any guides. Here is my situation:
My roommates and I have Verizon Fios. My roommates, who are literally 15 ft down the hall on the same level, get 160-180mbps while myself in my room get around 15-25. For the past year, I have just accepted it. I finally have time and am interested in getting my money’s worth for my internet.
We have a Ethernet cable running from the box on the outside of the house, inside to the middle level to the Fios Quantum router. I imagine there is something blocking optimal signal to my room.
What are my options?
Running a Ethernet cable up the side of my house to the 3rd floor and move the router up into my room. From there I can just hardwire my PC to the router? (Best option?)
Somehow setting up an wireless access point in my room?
For some reason I don’t think we have Coax available. I remember the Fios tech saying “we are going to have to just run an Ethernet cable in through your garage.”
I have troubleshooted many options on my end. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I am just at my wits end. Thanks
