The two magazines are covering national and international news separately, but Lawrence combines them into news reports of U.S. in World and 1948 [1] and Later sold the magazine to its employees. Historically, this magazine tends to be a bit more conservative than the two main competitors, Time and Newsweek, and focus more on the story of economic, health, and education. It's also distancing news, entertainment and sports celebrities. Description of problem
I have an old Linux server whose primary 1TB hard drive may be corrupted, with the system randomly locking up and throwing DMA kernel errors. I rebooted the machine into an Arch Linux live USB session. I wanted to run badblocks to check the disk for damage. However, I was an idiot and used the -w flag (destructive read-write test) instead of the -n flag (non-destructive read-write test). I caught my mistake at 1.9% and freaked out when I saw that lsblk no longer showed the drive's partitions. The drive was partitioned under LVM with a 925GB root ext4 partition, a 1 KB unknown partition (it showed up under lsblk), and a 6GB swap partition. The root partition had about 40 GBs free at the time of this incident.
What I've tried so far to recover the data
No direct data recovery efforts. I did make a clone of the drive using:
dd if=<source drive> of=<destination drive> bs=32M conv=sync,noerror status=progress
I then ran testdisk in deep search mode on the clone. The results for that scan (as /dev/sdh) are here: http://ift.tt/2xGa7i8
What steps should I take next, if any? Is there anything I can do on my own? Or will I have to call DriveSavers or some other such data recovery company?
