Description of problem
Yesterday when I was playing Europa Universalis 4, the screen started suddenly to "tear" and my pc crashed. When the pc was restarted the screen looked like this http://ift.tt/2yTQIg6 . I'm more than sure that the fault lies in the GPU, but I'm not sure how to fix this problem. One of my friends suggested that I would "bake" the GPU in oven as that had fixed his GPU in the past. What do you think about this?
One things that came to my mind is reinstalling drivers, but I don't see how they play a part in this. One possible factor might be that always when I play I manually increase the RPM of the fans, so that the temperature of the GPU doesn't go too high. When the fan speed is set to "automatic", RPM is always 1800 regardless of how intensive the GPU usage is. So when I play, let's say DOOM, the temperature might go to 95 celsius, so I have had to increase RPM to 2800-3500. This is one possible reason, but to my understanding r9 290x heats up quickly so it is resolved using fan speed.
